Gender Segmentation

Gender Segmentation is where companies market their goods Gender specific, women or men. have you ever noticed who does most of the shopping in a family? The woman does, and the markets have also noticed this and have developed their market plans to reflect this. One such company is Nike who have started a Market Campaign directed at the female populace with it's "No Boys Allowed" theme, this is where Nike is planning on opening over a hundred stores that cater to women only.

What the Markets have been seeing is that women are the ones that are taking care of the family fiance's, making the most of the purchase (cars, electronics, clothing). So they are leaning more of the Advertising towards the female in the family groups. Look at Home Depot
Home Depot have opened up store that have been tailored to fit the grown Female Market that it wishes to attract the following link is from an article where Home Depot is talking just about this targeting of the Females. http://www.voanews.com/english/archive/2005-03/2005-03-16-voa40.cfm

So how does a male feel about Home Depot leaning towards the Female Populace of the Society? Think about it when a man is at home and working on a project that his wife has told him to do; and he is in need of some sort of thing who goes to get it? The woman goes to get it; so if this help to bring peace in the home by helping and showing the woman what items are and what they are used for. Which intern will cause less augments and a happier wife when the project is done, then I am all for it. But I don't want to see any of this:
